I can definitely relate. I had two different roommates last year. The first one was super cool and would leave when my bf came over which wasn't very often. I really appreciated it so no awkwardness there but my other one never left the freakin room for anything. I never had time to myself. She even stayed in the dorm apartment on Valentine's Day and even had the nerve to barge in. It was just awful.

I really don't like this one. Sex is personal and nothing you should "negotiate" with a roommate. You'll have to find your private place to have sex - Leaving the room so people can have sex is just degrading. I don't at all like to look at other people as sexual people and would therefore never make sacrifices so that they can have sex... I'm a sexual person too, but it's a private matter and I would never take it out on other people, that is just a really lame and vulgar thing to do, like "Leave so we can have sex"... That makes you look like a slut... Just privately having sex with your lover isn't slutty, though.

Anyway, do girls really go looking for guys at the library? I used to hang there all the time, the girls there really seem to be trying to get books only, I don't see them approaching anyone.

I think a key thing would be to have a good understanding with a roommate. The sock on the door thing is awesome, I'd do it for lulz, but maybe something different if you don't want to be obvious. Perhaps a scrunchy on the door? I have loads left over.

I have a roomate and I really wish she would just ask me to leave. Instead her and her boyfriend (my best friend since before we knew her) just do it while i'm sleeping on the other side of the room. Except there have been a few times when I wasn't asleep yet. It was terrifying and gross. I knew they were doing it, but I didn't know what to do. Should I say something? Leave? or just pretend to sleep? I ended up just pretending to sleep because I panicked for so long I thought it was too awkward to leave that far in.

Well even if you have a roommate you and your roommate should knock before barging in each others room I mean when you stay overnight at a friends house you don't just go barging in there room even if they say its ok I mean its rude...i agree with Sarah Elizabeth you should text, kall, KNOCK, or just let your roomie kno you got a special someone coming over but dont take all day or night its not just your room

I've never been sexiled, because I don't currently have a roommate. But when I did, I left to go home most weekends so when her boyfriend came down to visit I wasn't there to - barge in, hehe.

When I went to visit my boyfriend at college his roommate actually decided to just let us have the room. Columbus Day weekend so he stayed in another friends room. We told him he didn't need to but he was like whatever.
xD Also when we like to have sex we hang kielbasa sausage on the door. Since he lives on an all male floor the guys think it's hilarious.

I think everyone deserves some privacy. I actually have 2 roommates, as does my boyfriend, so it's kind of hard to get alone time. which is annoying. I mean of course schoolwork is important, but relationships are too. sooo...yeah. sometimes it does kind of suck.

Well, I was wondering how people feel about being sexiled or sexiling someone. I think roommates should sex up a system. Like a hairtie on the doorknob means you've got a 'special guest' over. And if the person being sexiled needs to get into the room they should knock or phone the person in the room before coming in.
But I kind of think sexiling someone is rude, esspecially if it's overnight. You should never sexile someone overnight! But I understand that people want alone time.
Do you guys agree with me?
