haha this is so funny
guys at our school used to dress all preppy but now they all try to imitate the skater look.
guys care just as much as girls with what they wear
i guess they do a good job of hiding it?

Im pretty embarresed about my routine.
-Wake up at 6:30/7:00 AM
-Wash up for like 2 minutes
-Pick out what i need to wear, if my mom hates it she finds an outfit for me, that I hate!
-And put on the SAME EXACT shoes like every day when I have 3 or 4 pairs of new shoes

My friend storm actually gets up every morning
showers
blow drys his hair
then straightens it
then calls me to ask for opinions on
what to wear
then he washes his face
brushes teeth blah blah
peroxide then mouth wash
puts in his piercings lol
then his the road..
every morning i get up
(take showers the night before)
brush my hair
throw it in a pony tail with a headband
eyeliner
brush teeth
put on what I find =)
put on my shoes and go!
he has a much more lengthy routine
and he also has special occasion boxers..
im not sure why lol

Ya it showed reality to a gr8 extent. I had the same problem when i was in std 4-7...I shopped wid my dad. Btw I am a girl...nd he wanted to buy me nice clothes, but the problem was wid me. I was fat.
Neway now I am size 2...nd so can wear almost nething...I shop wid my dad till now...bt da choices hv changed alot. I can now buy nething I want to nd my dad buys me those. Love him.
About the comic: It was nice and the ending was terrific. Hilarious. Unexpected. Coz well I remember of wearing long coats, nd da coat hiding my fat figure and dress. Nice one...good going...keep it up!

I like the story, i know that i lot of people can relate. I'm not one of those people, not to sound dtuck up or whatever but i think that when i was younger it was like everyone followed me, maybe it was the people in my school.it still the same but im not in the cool crowd. its like ill do something and they'll just follow.
Posted by: abc123 | Dec 30, 2008 at 05:37 AM
i love this because i can totally relate. i used to think about what the 'popular' girls would buy and it was not even what i liked, just something i thought they would like.
now, my freinds and i are not the most popular people in school-(more like social outcasts)- but there are a lot of us. we are considered 'freaks' because of how we dress-(black,band tees, skinny jeans, the sort)- it kinda sucks sometimes but then i think, "i am who i am and they cant change me. i love myself just the way i am!"
good job andrew

I agree, jojo, I think that it's much wiser and more realistic to dress in what kind of things you like rather than to try to impress other people. I really liked this comic, and I can really relate to it. Great job, Andrew!!
Posted by: Jessica B. | Dec 15, 2008 at 06:59 PM
Wow. I really liked this. It kind of reminds me of myself back in middle school. I was just always trying to be popular and wear what all the popular people were wearing. Its like now when I go shopping I think "I love this!" not "Oh wow I really think that popular girl would buy this so I will!" and its way more fun wearing what you like than trying to dress to impress.
Posted by: Jojo | Dec 14, 2008 at 11:13 PM
I really like this!
Its really pathetic the way people just follow the crowd to fit in. Im the total opposite. When i shop, I look for the things that noone else would ever think of wearing or something that noone else wears. If I see someone with the same thing as me, I never wear it again. Im okay with not making friends because sometimes Im more comfortable being alone, but If I do find friends with the same motives as me, then good!
You shouldnt care about what others think. All you have to do is make yourself happy and thats all that matters.

in the second frame the two guys look like the guys from the mac commercials. :P
Posted by: tel | Dec 11, 2008 at 09:30 PM
I luvd da comic. Im kidda the same way too. i got my own style thats kidda not really cool and i always go shopping with my mom instead of my firends. and she always montior my clothes too.
Posted by: key | Dec 11, 2008 at 08:13 PM
Hehe, I LOVE your comics.
You remind me of my boyfriend so much it's scary. fo reals.
I wore long coats and chucks in high school too.
Posted by: GameOverGirl | Dec 11, 2008 at 05:59 PM
Lin is back! hooray!
The long coat idea is simple yet brilliant, I'm a uni student so frequently find myself in no-clean-laundry crises, so maybe I just need a really long coat to hide the fact i'm a complete scruff underneath :P
Fashion can be fun, but it tends to be more so when you don't follow the latest trend and just pick and choose bits that you really like.
Also... really want a ghostbusters t-shirt all of a sudden! Who you gonna call??? ^_^
Posted by: kate | Dec 10, 2008 at 08:08 AM
I swear boys care more about fashion than girls at my school. Or at least in my year.
Many of my friends that are boys are always browsing topman websites and such whenever I talk to them online... sending me links to things to see what I think.
It's not surprising to me at least.
But they are a really stylish bunch. Haha
Posted by: Half_Jill | Dec 09, 2008 at 04:41 PM
well this is what i do every morning:
Get up.
-Shower with shampoo and conditioner.
-put in contacts and put on mascara (If lucky, no smears on first try. If not lucky, wash off and start over).
- Yank knots out of hair (at least 5 min)
-decide on outfit with at least two wardrobe changes.
-Finally done.
My brohter's routine:
-Shower to wake up
-Run fingers through hair to brush
-pull on a t-shirt and jeans
Done.
Maybe SOME guys do.

Hehe funny today I wore a long black dressy buttoned up shirt with rolled up sleeves with white tights and my REALLY long high top black and white converses
Posted by: Kimby | Dec 08, 2008 at 09:08 PM
Maan, you got picked on for wearing a ghostbuster shirt?
If I wore that here I'd be a hero :P That thing would be awesome.
I've never really cared about what's in fashion.
It looks good? That's great. It's in fashion? That's cool. It's not in fashion? Even better, probably means it's cheap.
Posted by: GillyBBY | Dec 07, 2008 at 10:17 PM
im wearing a white vneck tee and leopard leggings...
im always a little rebellious
Posted by: banana | Dec 07, 2008 at 06:40 PM
Idk I dress in all black and wear random things from hot topic but I think that it's easier for guys than girls... sry.
Posted by: Meame | Dec 07, 2008 at 03:51 AM
I think fashion is all about what you like. If you like to shop at fancy stores that's awesome. If you prefer the thrift store, that's cool too. I don't think that either is any better than the other.
Posted by: Zoë | Dec 07, 2008 at 03:47 AM
no, they really don't. I know bcuz my brother told me and he NEVER lies and I know that he NEVER lies becuz he's admitted some pretty damn disgusting things to me.
Posted by: Diana | Dec 07, 2008 at 03:46 AM
I don't get people who don't care about fashion, I find so much joy and fun in picking out clothes and putting outfits together and feel good when I know I look good. But whatever, people can do what they want.
Posted by: Samantha | Dec 07, 2008 at 01:50 AM
Long coat and converses, nice look fo sho.
I'd do stuff like that.. I usually keep my look pretty simple (I dress like a slob, and occasionally get dressed up).
I don't hate fashion, I'm just lazy. And if people are bothered by it, tough, cuz I'm not having one more thing to be stressed about.
Posted by: jfo | Dec 07, 2008 at 12:53 AM
I don't give a damn about what ppl think, I just wear whatever I like. I always wear Eskimo shoes and coat =P and Native styles, Indian, hippie look...and everyone loves it

I <3 andrew lin!

I'm a chick, and I really don't give a rat's patoot about fashion. Hoodies, long wool navy coats, ripped jeans, slacks, whatever. All I care about is if it's in black. If it's black tops and black or denim pants, I'm happy. And the funniest thing is that evryone loves it. xD
I shop with my dad. He takes me to thrift stores, and I usually score big there. My jeans are ripped to shreds, my t-shirts are way too big for me, my shoes are dead worn, and I cross dress more than half the time, all because fashion doesn't make any sense to me. ^^
Posted by: Raphianna | Dec 06, 2008 at 04:21 PM
i'm wearing a v neck and boxers
i'm pretty sure this is what all the cool kids are wearing these day's
Posted by: Lillian | Dec 06, 2008 at 09:55 AM
aaw! I LOOOOOOVE to see guys in long coats and all stars! *-*
Posted by: Rita | Dec 06, 2008 at 07:45 AM
I love wearing nice clothes, even if I don't really dress up that much, no thanks to school.
I would go to stores and find cheap clothes and just mix and match them up and my friends would think I bought them for like $100. :)
My favorite outfit right now is my snug black knit dress with sheer silver tights and a shimmery knit cap. <3
Posted by: en vouge | Dec 06, 2008 at 12:26 AM
I never really understood why people were always so obsessed with matching themselves to the models in magazines. Aren't the photos for getting your own ideas and inspiration from them? Anyways, I just wear what's comfertable, and to tell you the truth, I've done the long coat thing too. XD (*Still does*) Long coats can make anything look classy. XD

Nice comic..
Ive never been one for fashion either..I usually just wear whats comfortable.
Right now I'm wearing jeans and a 'Vote for Pink' shirt I got at Victoria's Secret. I also like to wear things that state my beliefs, I have World Wildlife Foundation sweater that I was just wearing, but I got hot..lol
Posted by: Sabrina | Dec 05, 2008 at 11:24 PM
Good comic!
By the way, who cares about what you wear?
Plus a Ghost Buster T-shirt is pretty dope, so don't let old memories prevent you from doing certain things.
Posted by: Gee Nay | Dec 05, 2008 at 09:48 PM
...You just KNOW he's wearing a GhostBusters T-Shirt underneath that long coat.
