She is the worst conformist, this whole 'rocker' mentality is so over used it's disgusting. I would rather be some 'preppy girly girl' then one of those pseudo-individual nonconformist that are nothing but copying off one another. Believing that they are unlike everyone else, or different. It's pathetic. "Rockers" are a dime a dozen now-a-days. There's nothing different or special about it.

I prefer blue, blue is my 1# color. I am not a tomboy or a girly girl, goth or whatever. I'm just... a normal girl. I'm not a girl who walks down the school hallways with her hands by her sides vertically, or a girl who likes getting muddy. And I don't like wearing dark color all the time. I just like basic stuff like Video Games (world of warcraft ^^) and stuff. But I think this comic is still very cute.

Pink makes my stomach churn. It reminds me of Pepto-Bismol, which makes me sick when I take it.
I almost squealed when I saw the L7 and Hole posters on your wall. Those are two of my very favorite bands.

Pink is cute, for girly girls. Im a little bit of a Tom Boy, so I kinda dont like pink.. as much as I try I just dont like it, its annoying!!
But I think pink is like a feeling,...

OMG. THOSE ARE THE PINKS I LOVE!!
HAHA! Totally hate "Barbie" shades though XD

I've always liked pink. Not exactly the super bright pink, but I really like soft pinks. I couldn't care less if it was the typical color any woman would like, I like it and that's that. I think real feminism is doing what you want, how you want. Not trying to be different, just being yourself.

I really like this comic is cool it dosent realate to me though becaus black isnt my #1 color but i think if my sceen friend rachel was here reading this she'll trully love it cuz it relates to her

Posted by: LaLa | Jan 01, 2009 at 03:49 PM
true, true.
people shouldn't be stuck up about what they wear, so agreed. i personally don't really like pink, yet i do. It's a bit confusing but yeah, if i like it, whatever the color i don't care. =]

pink shmink I go green gURL. Ya get pushed into pink, why not rebel-belle? I hear boys wore pink when Hemingway was a mini macho. So? Times changed, bigotry didn't.
And you'll find out how cool feminism is, maybe even how to spell it, when ya get passed over for a good job cause the guy gets it. Then you GET IT.
Posted by: peseta | Dec 29, 2008 at 12:36 PM
I understand she is trying to make a point but colors are a bad way to go about it.... A color is a color :) ANd no one can really be judged on their favorite color or their least favorite color it is just a preference.
Posted by: Luna | Dec 27, 2008 at 03:57 PM
Ok I liked your comics dude but this is the biggest load of shit yet. pink isn't always associated with feminism and btw what the fuck is wrong with being a feminist? not all of us are bad you know. And not all of us think pink is a 'horribly demeaning color' it's just a color that is sometimes prefered by little girls. And what you wrote is kind of idiotic.
Posted by: elizaborden | Dec 23, 2008 at 09:11 PM
I felt like this comic wanted to deal with issues like feminism, but in the end it ended up sounding pretentious and stereotypical. I think that our clothing and color preference doesn't make us who we are.
This comic was pretending to be more than it actually was.

PINK LOVER (the person comment is above) sure women have every right men have but we are not treated like it! it is proven that women get paid less at the same jobs men have! SO maybe you should stand up for women discrimination!!!!!!
Posted by: michaela | Dec 22, 2008 at 10:01 PM
lol that is so like me. Eveb though I am not a rocker girl I wear COnverse and Skinny jeans with t-shirts and I don't like pink and now I realize it's because of what it represents! I don't like being super girly. Sure I will wear skirts and heels on occasion but being super girly isn't for me and I didn't want people to think that I am super grly. I actually love the colour hot pink but only accents
Posted by: michaela | Dec 22, 2008 at 09:57 PM
i did the same exact thing, 8th-sophomore year i just thought pink was awful..then my art made me grow out of it, and i love bright colors... i loved bright colors before they took off as a fashion trend. anyway, i thought this comic was cute..

Kate, I agree. "gay" is not an ajective, it is a personality trait. nothing more, nothing less. :)
Posted by: Terra | Dec 12, 2008 at 11:24 PM
'k, this has little to do with the comic... but it has to be said...
...some of you who've posted on here seem to think the word 'gay' is another word for 'bad'. It so clearly isn't! Seriously...just..argh
To me this is just as big an issue as the whole feminism debate. What do other people think?
Posted by: kate | Dec 10, 2008 at 08:39 AM
I really liked this comic. I used to not like black at all. And now I really like it and enjoy wearing it. I think this was a great comic and liked the drawing.
Posted by: Rose | Dec 06, 2008 at 11:39 PM
Man you guys don't seem to get it. Just pause to think for a second before posting your comments, such as "this comic sucks"!
I went through the exact same phase. I have a girly pastel room, and then I only wore black for a while in grade 9 and now. But now I seem to be drawn to the weird and obscure bright colors.
The point of the comic is that you aren't supposed to be biased to certain colors or to try to fit into stereotypes. Perhaps Abby Denson wanted to stay away from the conventional girly stereotype but realized that by doing that, she is only creating more stereotypes for herself. In turn, she decides to dress according to however she feels like and to and not be influenced by the biases from the past.
Posted by: Gee Nay | Dec 05, 2008 at 02:54 AM
this was so lame. like wtf. ok so pinks a girly color. whoopdy doo. thats so like people to stereotype people by what they wear. people like pink. i mean its scientifically proven that females are more attracted to colors or a pinker or redder hughe or however thats spelled. girls try not to wear it because they want attention and want to be different. well hello honey, if everyones "different" than no one is. get over yourself poser.

don't worry about the haters... hater just mean you're popular! :D
Posted by: Courtney | Dec 03, 2008 at 09:53 PM
It was a good comic, which I can relate to ('cept I'm only in 8th grade), but, as others have said, there's not much of a point. What's the lesson here or something?

I don't like pink AT ALL. Not even bright colors..I don't know about you but I think it's tacky. Especially on those models that a girl would never wear the clothes in real life like you said.
Posted by: Alexa | Nov 30, 2008 at 10:29 AM
this comic was so gay there was no point she liked pink ok. then all of a sudden she does. who gives a shit about pink and bein diffrent or wateva that was mad frekin gy that was a waste f freakn time like that was so gay it got me mad
Posted by: ashante | Nov 27, 2008 at 11:55 PM
this was the dumbest comic iv read on this site... whats the point? ok so the girl doesnt like pink..? then she does? who cares. i was really excited to read this, then when i did, it blew.

What was the point of this comic?
Posted by: anon | Nov 16, 2008 at 05:13 PM
Kinda Agreed..We all Should be different...My closet is made up of black, white, grays, and hot pink x]..I can throw anything together and it can look ok. P=,

Of course feminism is relevant. Of course sexism still exists. These issues come down to a lot more than the color pink.
Posted by: megan | Nov 14, 2008 at 08:08 PM
I have never liked pink except in my food (i.e. kool-aid) but I have never 'hated' it. I've always worn black since I could dress myself, before it was cool to be uncool and wear black, which is now a trend like so many other things. Feminism is completely relevent today, there is still sexism. Congrats to anyone who lives in a world where everyone is truly equal.

i can absolutely relate to this comic,i've always loved bright green ..like apple green and when i turned 13 i was all over the emo-kinda Gothic style, but now that i'm 16, I'm getting back to bright colors..
very nice comic!
Posted by: enjoy | Nov 13, 2008 at 11:14 PM
definitely,, a color is just a color, pink is my favorite color..pastel pink just becuase of how it looks ..
you choose what defines you

@ page 7. That isn't funny, that is what I have to deal with every day. I hate preppy bitches.
Posted by: Mad Maudlin Hart | Nov 13, 2008 at 07:51 PM
It's a cute comic, but it bothers me that she said she hated pink because she was a "feminist " and an "individual." A true individual doesn't define their self by their wardrobe, and the color pink is not anti-feminist. I'm glad she grew out of this sentiment!
Posted by: megan | Nov 13, 2008 at 06:36 PM
"Are you a witch " lmao
Posted by: jess | Nov 13, 2008 at 04:39 PM
Proof that the colour pink only means something if you let it. Blue is better though :P

Posted by: Cutie | Nov 12, 2008 at 09:15 PM
OMG HUGE NOOB. That was the worst, most teenage lame "omg I'm so cool" piece of crap I've ever read.

omg, tht is soo true
i know alot of girls who hate pink cause they think it means their girly. like your cool.
lolz

Pink Lover, if it wasn't for feminists in the first place, you'd still be chained to the kitchen and popping out babies even if you didn't want to.
This is pretty much the story of my last 5 years.
I went through the whole "OMG GAWTH" phase when I was 14 ._. Pink was the enemy.
Then after I got out of it, I just didn't like wearing pink because I thought it looked bad on me. Now a few weeks ago I bought my very first pink item of clothing, a bow-top tunic dress. It actually looks really, really good. I just didn't know I looked good in the colour because I hadn't worn it for so many years xD
Posted by: GillyBBY | Nov 11, 2008 at 12:57 AM
I don't believe that you have to go to one specific style on the spectrum in order to be an individual. Just as long as you think you look smokin' in what you are wearing and ignore the stereotype of that style, then you are already unique. Like right now, I am looking for a hot pink patent pump(heheh alliteration)to wear for parties and such!
Posted by: Reanna | Nov 10, 2008 at 05:26 PM
i dont hate the color pink, i just dont wear it, im emo, like right now im wearing a black Panic at the Disco concert shirt, bright purple skinny jeans and beat up skate shoes
