Girl, Remember that you can get UTI's in MANY different ways. So please don't come on here saying that "Thank god I'm staying abstinent". Because It doesn't matter, you can get UTI's from dirty bath water, not clean hygiene, and plenty of other things. This is just advice, Thank youuu.

Lmfao, This comic is the most helpful ever. I've had plenty of UTI's before I read this. But I NEVER knew it had to do with sex. The longest I've ever had a UTI before was for like 2 weeks, and that's because the first week, I didn't want to go to my mom, even though I went to a Dr. before about UTI's.

Omg, those 2 weeks, I wanted to die.

Oh, God. I remember when I first had a UTI. I got it from swimming in a disgusting, overcrowded lake. The next day I couldn't even sit up without nearly screaming. I think I drank twice my weight in cranberry juice.

my 10 year old sister has had UTI since she was 4 so it definately can happen even if you are a virgin
so just keep clean, thats one of the best ways to prevent it

Thank you sooo much for this comic! I just got over a UTI. But if it wasnt for this comic I wouldnt have even looked into it, I would have just ignored it (which i did for about a week until i remembered this comic) and it could have gotten sooo much worse!

I was on antibiotics for 7 days to treat a UTI. I left a tampon inside me for a whole day and that caused an infection. I had the WORST PAIN ever below my belly button, i couldn't sleep for two nights it was so bad. My question is, now that its been two weeks since i have recovered why do i get pain when i urinate after having intercourse? Im i just sensitive now or what?

UTI's can happen to any girl, not just girls that have sex. It's important to remember that. Keep your hygeine up, and if you get a UTI drink lots of cranberry juice. Seriously, it helps. However, don't substitute that for the antibiotics your doctor gives you. Cranberry juice is good, but the antibiotics will knock it out a lot more effectively.

The Q and A session at the end is really informative, because when I went to the doctor she told me I had a UTI and before she could get to the details my mom came in the room and since i made the doc swear to keep quiet she didn't finish. Ladies, you can get a UTI even if you're abstinent. There are few other things that can cause them besides sex. That being said, they are the worst. But what I found is that there are medicines you can take to lessen the symptoms until you can see your doctor to get antibiotics. Uristat is a good one. It turns your pee like neon orange but it's better than feeling like you're about to burst for days straight. Drinking lots of water and cranberry juice is also good for fighting the infection.

Cranberry juice (not coctail) as well as asparagus when eaten in large quantities (a can or two of asparagus a day and at least 3 cups of cranberry juice a day along with lots of water for flushing your system) during a UTI discourage the bacteria from living. If antibiotics tend to make you sicker than they make you well this is one infection that has a natural cure. This has worked for me and since I added cranberry juice to my diet I have not had a UTI

i am 18 years old and a proud virgin in college. Stories like this just help me realize why i made my decision to stay abstinent till marriage. (Not saying that if you don't its a bad thing.)

~~I am 17, never had sex. But had UTI...when i was lil, almost 8 yrs old. It just happened suddenly, I had pain "down under". I felt like peeing but wasnt able to pee. Thank god, my dad is a gyanae, he gave me meds, he also told me dats UTI wich I was having. Its really hurtful. I had several UTI's about 2 to 3 of em at my initial childhood stages. But I took measures, rite after I suffered from it for the first time. Ya, antibiotics + other meds were given by my dad. If u dont finish the course, u will havto suffer from it again!

But need not to worry, it dont happen everytime. Hygiene and proper sex minus the sponges dont ever give u UTI's much, but ya its painful.

I am so gald to know that these are super common. I remember the night I got my bladder infection. I thought that I had drank way to much green tea, because I was peeing every 5 minutes ( and yes I timed it) lol... anyways so everntually 4am rolls around and I have class the next morning I was like, what is wrong with me cause now the peeing escalated into pain. So after not sleeping because I was to busy peein I went to the school nurse and doctor gave them a sample and they said I did have an infection. So i took the antibiotics for 5 days, and have felt great since. Althought the first time after having sex after the antibiotics I thought I had triggered it again.. luckily i didnt!

Anyways ladies, drink lots and lots of water toxins build up in your body and can cause this and advoid any dirty sex, always pee after sex and keep it clean. I dont kno why you arent in the first place anyways!

I suffer from uti's soo often im lucky if it's 3 munths b4 my nxt one ,,, been to the docs soo many tymes, no matter how many courses of anit-bs i have taken, done the whole cleaning and hygenic thing and still seem to suffer. I'm being sent 4 a scope test to found out a solution as i have had scans in the past and nothing seems to show any signs so i advise anyone who is unsure and is quite prone to these type of infections to push 4 more to be done bout this problem ..however tbh i think im jst one of the unlucky ones who unfortunatly is proned to them :( here's hopin tht there will one day b a cure to end all the pain and suffering it causes.
