i dont think its morbid at all, it just shows us how love blinds us- or makes us deaf. its about giving ur hole lyf up for something you love. and makin it your hole lyf. but sometimes we gota realise, there's more things to life than just love.

I wanted to add to this story, something like
"in anger the birds fly up and ask the sun, "why did you let him fall?" and the sun says, "If I tried to catch him he would have burned. I keep my distance because I love the earth, so I let Icarus fall."

this is , like the comment before mine, so sad and sweet at the same time. and it has a very good moral, too-you have to protect your heart. or your life, in this case. and icarus is just so HOT!!
Posted by: hotstylez | Jan 09, 2009 at 09:14 PM
*awww it was sad and sweet at the same time! LUV IT!*
Posted by: Krista | Nov 27, 2008 at 12:51 AM
Oooh, this is sad but romantic.. although the sun is a bitch. He's just so hot and innocent, but death is his destiny.. T^T
Who wouldn't want with Icarus anyway?? (except the sun of course)
Posted by: Anim-chan | Nov 08, 2008 at 01:03 AM

~I realy liked the comix but what point is it trying to make, im sort of slow in some areas and i need summ things broken down for mme to understand. i sure do wish i could draw thaat guudd. it sounds sort of sadd at the ending and it kind of keeps you guessing but thats whaat makes me like it even more??
Posted by: tokiobeliever518 | Aug 22, 2008 at 09:29 PM
wow.... I that the artwork was awesome though, I especially liked the begining were the red wings sorta melted into blood. I thought that was really creative.
Posted by: Jenny | Aug 18, 2008 at 04:30 PM
i saw it coming...i mean wax wings??
i don't really get the moral?
don't throw yourself uncareingly, crazily, fully into love?
ugh. i think he was a little silly to make wax wings, and if that is what it means, pooh. i understand you need to be careful, but i am *thankfully* blessed witht a great judge of character and im caucious about these things. i guess kiki was literally just focused on the artwork after all...

the artwork is amazing and mezmerizing. i was blown away and i do love the story too. its somewhat mysterious and mystical. i would love to see more of you comix. honestly!

I honestly thought he would like uh, revive and the moral of the story be narrated or something but... Oh well.
Btw love the art!:D

I love how you gave the story of Icarus and Daedalus a little twist. Too bad it didn't have King Minos or Daedalus in it. I love the original story. I am a big fan of greek mythology. Anybody with common sense would also know that this is not plagerism.
Posted by: Lillian | Jun 20, 2008 at 06:29 PM
i love the artwork! very rich, and detailed. only problem i don't like is that it's not right. i've read the greek myth on icarus and that's not what happens.
Posted by: mecca | Jun 19, 2008 at 04:40 AM
wow! That was pretty awesome! Nice artwork style! And Icarus was so adorable! I want a pair of red wings that actually work! >.<
Posted by: Wingz_Goddess | Jun 18, 2008 at 08:43 PM
This was just wow.
I really liked this. It represented how things can really be in life. Poor Icarus :/
Posted by: Liiann | Jun 13, 2008 at 04:00 PM
Ohh poor Icarus.
The birds did warn him, the sun wont love you back.
Posted by: Ally =) | Jun 13, 2008 at 03:32 PM
was there an actual message you were trying to convey? or is it just about the animation
Posted by: kristina | Jun 12, 2008 at 09:17 AM
I liked the effort clearly put into the artwork. I'm never particularly attracted to morbidness, but I think this touches on a sensitive and cruel fact of love: When you love someone, they won't always love you back.
Posted by: Lindsey | Jun 08, 2008 at 11:48 PM
I prefer the meaning of the latin version, in latin it has a different tone, ie, the sea devouring him and the sea swallowing him.
Posted by: lotsadonuts | Jun 08, 2008 at 07:27 PM
I love this the art work is beautiful, and the story fells so close to what some people feel.
Posted by: Aysha | Jun 08, 2008 at 02:33 PM
Awwwww, the story of Icarus is so sad. But I think it's touching what love can make you do, how it can make you feel.
Trust me *wink*...
Posted by: AmorMJ | Jun 07, 2008 at 09:08 PM
I really love this comic. I don't think it's morbid at all, in a way in represents relationships with someone we love who does not love us back. I really also like that it is a story similar to one from Greek mythology
Posted by: Sara | Jun 07, 2008 at 08:17 AM
The artwork is awesome a nd i like that it is in latin too. What was your inspersation to create this???
'cuz i loovvveeee it!!!!
i also like your view on "love".
Posted by: Killer fluffy | Jun 03, 2008 at 11:11 PM
I love this story and the way that it can be interpretted 2 different ways. I also liked that you put it in Latin.

I've always been intrigued by the story of Icarus, even though the ending is pretty sad. there can be a lot of interpretations to it.
Posted by: CarleyRenee | Jun 02, 2008 at 03:26 AM
the latin is incredible! it gave me chills. but the truly sad part is, this is what love is...
Posted by: hunny | Jun 02, 2008 at 02:20 AM
I liked this a lot. The Latin gave it a very romantic feel (in the old sense of the word). Plus - I know everyone's already said this - I liked that you gave this ancient myth a new feel. The artwork was really striking. :-)
I hate to sound nit-picky, but the panel which says "the sun will not love you also", the Latin needs a "non".
Thank you for doing something original! I really enjoyed it!

well it was realy helpful now i get y it aint ment2be btween me&a guy
Posted by: eleanor | May 30, 2008 at 01:51 PM
It's a MYTH an old myth, no one ever really knew who came up with it in the first place so how can it be considered plagiarism?IT was originally an oral tale and was only recently published!Saying she's plagiarizing is moronic.
Posted by: Pastafarian | May 29, 2008 at 07:26 PM
I loved it! I love Mythology and the Latin is a nice touch! I also like how you made this story your own. It's very good!
Posted by: Jess | May 29, 2008 at 12:40 PM
I love icarus! It's so beautiful. I'm pretty sure it represents how we are reckless when in love. And though others warn us, we act upon what is in our heart and sometimes "fall" because of it. So pretty :]

i've read the story of icarus before and i never saw this love metaphore, but seeing it in this perspective actualy makes alot of sense!! i absolutely loved it. and i love how it's in latin, which is sort of a hobby of mine. please keep up the fantastic work.
all the best

I loved this story the first I heard about it, and it is the most tragic love moral of all. Sadly, my friend is going through a situation like Icarus... And she already has had her wax wings melted by the sun, and I'm so terribly worried for her.
The artwork is wonderful, it is what caught my eye first and the Latin was a nice touch to it. I tried translating it even though I don't know it, but I do know some French and am fairly fluent in Spanish so I recognized some words.
Great work! :]

omg that was beautiful artwork, but just one thing...im a huge latin nerd otherwise i wouldnt point this out, the third panel actually says "the sun will love you also"
Posted by: katieme | May 21, 2008 at 07:28 PM
this was nice, love the animatics, reminds me of manga.
Posted by: anayia | May 20, 2008 at 04:33 AM
i dunno i thought it was a nice miniature of the story. you put your own touch and style to it. i think its dope

The artwork is perfect...keep it up!!
Posted by: Samriddhi | May 19, 2008 at 10:33 AM
this is beautiful. ^_^. i understood the latin; rather unusual considering i'm nearly failing the class. But amazing artwork, as always. And a very interesting perspective on the story, without Minos and Daedalus.
Posted by: xbanxsanityx | May 16, 2008 at 10:13 AM
Oh, I've always loved this story. It's so sad. I love the way you did it. My dad read it and was very impressed by the latin. Personally, the artwork is what caught my eye. It's absolutely beautiful! Very modern styles but a very classic tale. I love it. Love. Kudos, props, the works. If there was a favourites list I could add this to, I would. Amazing.
