I hate V-day, for the very reason rachell explained. it's so comercialized that it's not even funnty. It's like what is love anymore? Is it how much money you can spend on your bf or gf? How disgusting. And don't think i hate v-day because i'm single. I hated v-day when i was in a reltionsihip, and i still hate it now that i'm out of a relationship. It's sad that ppl wait one day out of the whole year to really show their love by buying crappy cards and crappy cheap chocolate and gifts. V-DAY CAN SUCK IT!

Damn, I miss Rachel's weekly comics. I think it was cool to see the origins of the anti-cupid.

I have to ask, though...what does Rachel have against sex? Yes, it's true you shouldn't "give" someone your virginity to "prove" how much you love him, but she could have focused on THAT - how it's bad to have sex for the "wrong reasons." Instead, she plays the "what if you're not together forever?" card (like it's not okay to have more than one sex partner over the course of your WHOLE LIFE?) and the SEX RUINS EVERYTHING card.

I love you, Rachel, but sometimes you sound like one of those abstinence-only guilt trippers they send to the high schools to discourage teen sex (you know, the ones who actually just discourage condom use?) Hearing someone who usually has such a good track record on feminist issues talking like she's on some Generation Life payroll disturbs and saddens the hell out of me. You had a good point in mind - "proving" your love is a bad reason to have sex - but I feel like there had to be some way to get it across without giving off such a strong message of TEENAGE SEX IS ALWAYS BAD, BECAUSE...BECAUSE!

loved the comic! really showed some of the true aspects of love. personally,i think valentines day is fun and exciting, and ya it kinda sucks for single people but that doesn't mean you have to suck out all the fun for the couples. and if you"re wondering why we take a whole day to celebrate valentines day, you could ask the same thing about father's day or mother's day...its a holiday, its on all of our calendars, get over it and enjoy the day of love

I love this comic.
