Yeah, I definately agree with Amanda, and I'm for sure going to be getting a hybrid- they're good for the environment and save money on gas... why not?!

Hey for me it swings too ways. Yes, America depends on them too much, and they are the main cause for our enviromental problems, but there are some places you just can't get too without a car. I say walk where you can walk (or ride bikes, whatever you want) and drive where you can't. Like, if I'm going to go across town, hell yeah I need a car. But if I'm just visiting a friend who lives two streets away I'll definetly walk over ride.
That's why when I get a car I'm planning on getting an electric one, which is at least a little bit better on the enviorment.

I'm in the North American south-east, and our public transportation really is horrible (not terrible, but horrible). We're BELOW sea-level, so we can't get a sub-way. property prices are SOARING, so there can't be a tram or monorail system. And out busses are terrible. They're regularly 15-30 minutes late, sometime 45 minute to an hour, and it is actually DANGEROUS to ride the bus, at all times of the day. But don't take this as an endorsement for you're crazy, anti-car views. I'm a mechanic/gearhead, if you know what I'm saying, and I love my car (or truck, or motorcycle; pretty much whatever I can get my hands on).

My answer to long distance travel is to move closer to where you need to go, if it is a regular, commuting situation, or to bum a ride to a Greyhound station for one shots. I've relied on the latter for most of my comicking life, finally moving to the terminal's city after travel became so regular it was inconvenient.

It's a double-edged sword, really. On one side, yes, cars are /horrible/ or the environment, and our society uses them way too much. On the other hand, people at the age you're targeting have it almost drilled into their brains that public transport is inefficient and unreliable. Thus they get rides from parents, etc. until /they/ can become an driveaholic. Plus, what about longer distances? Your immediate answer would pobably be Greyhound-type buses, right? Not everyone has the best public transport...

I totally agree with you!
I'm sick and tired of people buying cars like they need a new one everyday!
They complain about gas prices or global warming, then go off and get in their HUGE truck that get 2 miles to a gallon (okay, so I'm exagerrating, but you see my point.)
I totally LOVE your comics!!!
I wish I could write as well as you can.
Keep writing comics! I don't think I could get through life without them.

I am with you all the way! It's those ppl with the fancy cars and hummers that are ruining the planet. Although, global warming would've come sooner or later they're making it come even faster.
I love you comics by the way!
