Haha, I'm a huge anime and manga fan, but I wouldn't classify this as manga or anime. You have your own style of doing things, and your own unique things to write about. You broach topics most people don't think to address. You're a role model. <3

i would not really classicfy this as manga or anime...

your comix are cool because they face real-life problems but still make me laugh! i like the manga style but i am not really that into manga, i really read your comix because i like how you are you and you show off your style. (also, Tuna keeps me laughing. he is SO awesome!)

Don't listen to anyone... you keep your style. Do what YOU like to do, not what others want you to do.

*CAPS LOCK: NOOOOOooo!!!*
*cries etc. and cuddles cat co-star tightly, shuddering*
If you do, I'll stop reading your comics..*deathglare*
(And that "manga=pikachu reach for the starrrsss" nonsense is mostly true.;_;)
Andand my style is semi-manga/cartoon/illustrative/detailed/stylized so the truth is, yours isn't one to be put down by a label either!

wow...uhh that was messed up, your style is far from japanese anime, this is more, american anime, i'm not even sure to call it anime <.<;; but i do know that your comics help out alot of girls and you shouldn't change anything about them :3 that old comic lady just has a huge stick up her butt, personally i think all american comics are all the same, corney, man bassed, crap. it's always "man gets some sort of power, decides to rid the world of evil, and gets the girl, happy ending" it's repetitive and annoying, at lease manga can be diffrent and insane!!!

I love the comics Rachel does now! They are amazing!! And they're not exactly anime. . .well then again who am I to say that; I don't read anime comics. lol.

I just love comix altogether. DC, Marvel, Tokyo Pop, Dark Horse, Rachel Nabors. The whole enchilada. It sometimes pisses me off that some people think the world is only made up of two kinds of people. Western traditional and manga.
Posted by: Britt | May 26, 2008 at 01:25 PM
Do some people only like the comic for the giant anime eyes? Yes, sadly. Luckily, your comics have more to them than just style. So rock on.
Posted by: lilliseth | May 24, 2008 at 04:28 PM
Pft. People these days.
Don't ever apoligize for who you are. Stick fries in your milkshake? Like Amy Grant AND Alanis Morissette? Wear "goth" boots and Aeropostale? Well, you go right ahead. People may not agree, because people are stupid. I love makind; it's people I hate.
but yeah, you are who you are, and nobody cna change that, only you.

Dont change who cares what anyone else has to say. You like your style and your fans do to so if someone is mad cause their comics are boring so what? if you really want to try something new just to try that cool but nothing ever beats the original

NOOO!!!!!! PLZ NO, DON'T CHANGE UR COMICS! YOUR COMICS R REALLY GOOD THE WAY THEY ARE!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: JenL-02 | Feb 23, 2008 at 10:24 PM
Be happy in who you are and what you do. Not everyone is going to like you or your comics, thats life, but theres also going to be people who like the comics the way they are.

OH NOES!!!!!
DONT EVER CHANGE RACHEL!!!!!
U R GREAT AT DRAWING AND I LOVE UR COMICS!
Posted by: tina | Feb 07, 2008 at 04:38 PM
I really love your comics!! And, considering I don't read any other comics, that has to say something! It's more about what you say then how you draw. Your comics make me feel like a strong, confident girl! Your comics have great messages and that's why I love them and read them every week!
Posted by: Nicole | Jan 20, 2008 at 09:37 AM
I LOVE your comics! I don't get why people think you're a trend whore, because your not. I think your comics are really good and i read them all the time. They really inspire me to write my ideas down.I'm also an amatuer manga and anime artist...but i'm not as great as you.PLEASE DON'T CHANGE YOUR COMICS!!!!
Posted by: claire | Jan 20, 2008 at 12:12 AM
Actually, you're not a trend whore at all.
Maybe in America anime and manga might be popular, but i live in Belgium, a tiny little country next to France. Anime and manga are only just starting to kick in. I'm proud of myself that i draw manga, and that i knew it before most people did. Everyone says that my eyes are "too big" and "unnatural", but i could care less! It just makes art different from everyone else's!
So please, don't ever change, you're the one who got me to start drawing myself!♥

I for one love anime, before it hit "4kids" type channels. People assume stuff like that about anime shows cause of the way they've been censored by American TV companies. There are so many anime shows and manga comics in the world it's hard to call a 'trend'.. I've been watching anime since I was very little. Who cares if your characters got big eyes; it's a style. Anime is all different; there's no set rules, so to stereotype it is a bit dumb on their part.
I've been trying to draw anime for years, you're lucky you've developed your own style.
People who stereotype aren't exactly the crowd you oughta be changing for. In fact, there isn't a crowd you should change for, lol.

I hate anime.
But your comics are cute :3

nooooooooooooooooooo.... don't change! Yes, they are a bit manga, but they are so totally different from other manga. The others are all abount, 'oh pikachu, reach for the stars!' but your comics atually have some meaning in them. I support you all the way!
Posted by: wartimepunk | Dec 15, 2007 at 10:58 AM
you dont have to do that, dont worry, always are gonna talk bad about some person, you cant stop that but you can do this: do not give importance to that, its not worth it.
you be yourself
dont change yourself, you are fine, they all can go to hell, remember, you have a great talent, so dont listen to them.

Hey I know what you might mean about superficial stuff and trends. I get it a lot with my email, the xox's aren't hugs and kisses it's suppose to be fences but I mean thigns are more clear in your own mind. This new comic will be interesting but I love your comics because of the themes and the raw truths you project in them. I am more so a doodler and even more of a plain novel writer and your comics are so refreshing.
