RACHEL, you are awesome, I'm laughing my head off. Write(draw?) more please!
Posted by: Jenny | Aug 19, 2008 at 07:49 PM
That is such a great comic! Yeah it's true that guys and girls get turned on by different things, but sometimes they get turned on by the same things. Anyway, Rachel you know how good you are so it's no need to linger on it.
Good luck with the rest of you're awesome comix!
Posted by: Crystal G. | Jun 26, 2008 at 01:08 PM
Do you have a thing for guys with long hair? Oh my god, I do, it just looks kinda hot. (Well, usually anyway LOL.)
I haven't read any romance novels - which is weird cos I love reading - but I'll watch out for the good ones and the rubbish ones!
Keep up the awsome work Rachel!
Posted by: AmorMJ | Jun 16, 2008 at 03:44 PM
LOL.
I like the "Running Stereotype" thing.
The cookie-cutter personalty is true also.
That's why my "love stories" are generally "disturbing" to my buds.
Posted by: Me-x | May 27, 2008 at 02:44 PM
ur so right bout romance novels tuna, they r all the same. girls who want to lose their virginity and guys with deep horrible pasts. But i have 2 agree some romance novels are kewl like "TASTE OF DARKNESS" an awesome romance novel bout a were cat and vampire
but i agree basically they r all the same shitaki stuff as any other romance novel
Posted by: Melissa | Apr 23, 2008 at 04:07 PM
"Jaws was never my scene and I don't like Star Wars"
hahaha I know that song. AND i have a duct tape bracelet with that written on it :)
Posted by: dollie | Apr 12, 2008 at 11:55 AM
Maz what kind of vampire romance are you looking for?
Posted by: Nita | Mar 17, 2008 at 09:32 PM
As much as I agree with you blake. I know ALOT of great fanfics and motfanfics are better than published stuff.
Posted by: Maz | Mar 13, 2008 at 06:27 PM
I don't get it. "Jaws was never my scene, and I don't like Star Wars."? Is that maybe the Queen reference? As for romance novels, well, what do you expect? For every Tolkien or Rowling, there are hundreds of terrible fanfics and even published material that is just...terrible. Romance novels are not alone in the shit-storm known as the majority of literature.
Posted by: Blake | Mar 13, 2008 at 01:48 AM
CARLITO8846 WHERE DOYOU FIND THESE VAMPIRE ROMANCES I MUST KNOW?!?!?!?!?!I LOVE THIS COMIC ALSO ppl WHO WANT BAND ROMANCES TRY LOOKING ON Quizilla under the M rating thses alot of it!SPECIALLY MCR FANS!!!!
Posted by: Maz | Mar 11, 2008 at 05:26 PM
woooooowwwww... HEAVING BOSOM?! SHEESH...the only worse thing you could have said was "he longed for her, and once she was in his grasp, and he would never let go. Her strength was feeble matched against his fiery passion, asn his muscles tensed as he swept her up..."
whateva...mine was just a cliche, stereotypical romance novel for ya....
Posted by: Haley | Jan 15, 2008 at 08:42 PM
I haven't really read many romance novels in my life. I don't care to read all the risque scenes but I like reading stories of a couple falling in love and dating and holding hands and dancing and stuff like that. And by the way, those images that the cat was depicting were absolutely disgusting! I lurve Rachel Nabor's comics though!
Posted by: Lizz | Jan 02, 2008 at 02:16 AM
Not all romance novels are boring and lack and good story line. I own a few that are really good, if anyone is interested they should check out Hard to Love.
Posted by: Tashie | Dec 16, 2007 at 07:17 PM
Haha I own a romance novel...and I have to admit it is true. From what I've heard from friends and what I've read they are ALL THE SAME! I can't wait for you to release your novel! I hope Borders gets it! :3 So that I can go buy it lickity split [ignore the use of olden style sayings...-//-]
Posted by: Taylor | Dec 15, 2007 at 03:12 PM
@Amanda: Horror-Romance? That's a new genre. Oh no! Please tell me it doesn't involve making out with zombies! >.<
Posted by: Rachel_Nabors | Dec 14, 2007 at 02:51 PM
Are you really going to publish your romance novel? I would read that. The only romance I read is if it is in horror.
Posted by: Amanda | Dec 13, 2007 at 11:27 PM
Did you write this at all on the 24th? Good for you to remember. 16 years to the day... We must forever love Queen, if only for the sake of Farrokh and Brian. O.o
Okay, enough of /that/. Great comic, oh-so-funny! I think I saw that Romance you were reading in the library....

they should just change the name from "romance novel" to "softcore porn"... i mean, don't get me wrong: i LOVE it, but let's just call it what it is!!
Posted by: l | Dec 04, 2007 at 01:57 PM
Okay. i haft to agree with the "romance novels are porn for girls" part XD
Posted by: stella | Dec 03, 2007 at 07:21 PM
Honey, I'd SO read that book in the last panel if you wrote it... Lovely comic, as always. Though Tuna's visual was a bit...disturbing...*giggles*
Posted by: Joanie Dark | Dec 03, 2007 at 01:37 PM
well i like some romance novels.... i guess cuz all i read is the ones wit black people(no offense) the other ones are kinda corny lol. o i never thought of romance novels bein lk porn 4 grls but yea i guess that is true lol
Posted by: benita | Dec 02, 2007 at 04:35 PM
I know people mentioned this before but I love the Bicycle reference on the shirt lol..Also if I remember correctly there was another comic where it said Seven seas of rhye when you were talking about Virginia or something I could be imagining it lol. Love the comic it is true though! Most romance novels are really cheesy! If you wrote one I would probably read it though!!
Posted by: Ashley | Dec 02, 2007 at 03:38 PM
Heh, I haven't really read any romance novels so I shouldn't judge them or their readers, but I really used to think badly of the people who read them whenever I used to stock book shelves with them. I swear, people are MESSY.
Posted by: Tyciol | Dec 02, 2007 at 06:25 AM
Haha, that is so damn true. They really are bad. I agree with whoever mentioned fanfic...
I would totally enter a 'worst romance' contest. It'd be so funny!
I love your comics, they really are good!
Posted by: Ayries | Dec 02, 2007 at 04:35 AM
i think that there should be a contest on who can write the crappiest romance novel...which seem to b really popular. i personally hate to read anything without a intriguing plot with characters who are entertaining. love ur comics!
Dija B.
Posted by: Dija | Dec 01, 2007 at 11:05 PM
Dude, someone who criticized the writing wrote sincerely wrong! Lol! Someone doesn't know how to capitalize words besides, "EVER"!
XD
SINCERELY,
Rain

I like romance novals...I trying to write one too didn`t finish it so delete. I Rachel's stories
Posted by: Monena | Dec 01, 2007 at 06:17 PM
I've only read a couple of romance novels, mostly because erotic fanfiction is just plain better, but if Rachel wrote one, I'd be all over that! Oh well, a girl can still wish, right? Also, to the person who likes laughing at romance novel titles, I've got one for you: Sexy Beast IV. I shit you not, I actually saw it at my local book-store. =P
Posted by: Milena | Nov 30, 2007 at 11:38 PM
i love your comics rachel. i've always read dirty stories but i never thought that other girls did too. it's cool to see i'm not alone. and dont listen to those fucking dick-heads that question your greatness
with love,
Madison

Hey. I love all your comics. It would be cool if you did wrie a romance novel. I have read the other coments so I see you gave up. I give up at writing a lot of stuff.
Posted by: Amba | Nov 29, 2007 at 05:29 PM
This comic is so true and I'm amazed that Tuna is so informed on men and womens turn-ons :p please really write the novel it would be so great.
love,
The Emo Kitten

my mom loves romancce novels i think they dum dum dum but i do love Rachel's comixs n_n
Posted by: lynn | Nov 29, 2007 at 03:36 PM
I know I have read literally a ton of Harliquin romance novels. But they lack a luster for life that really want to read about. I decided that the only person who knows what kind of romance stories is me. So I have written a least two dozen romance works that fit my likings.
Posted by: Jay | Nov 29, 2007 at 02:53 PM
i can relate to this...
romance novels are my giulty pleasure (shh, don't tell anyone).
there's this website (Smart Bitches, Trasy Books) that completely indulges that, and i still feel intelligent.
Posted by: lizzz | Nov 29, 2007 at 12:41 PM
Me and my best friends love to stand around and laugh at the titles of the books.
Personal favorite: The Beast in The Tower.
Posted by: Maggie | Nov 29, 2007 at 11:40 AM
I love reading romance novels and I'm not afraid to admit it and although the stereotypical petite female with fiery passion is finally tamed by a gorgous hunk always twitched my annoyance I found that I could easily turn a few things around in my imagination and make the story even better than it was on paper!!! Thats probably why i love reading more than movies and such as its easier to adapt to my own personal liking!! ahhh imagination what a wondrous part of evolution (Wait do animals have any imagination?) Tried writing endless romance novels but they all come out really corny and rubbish (its really hard to get a hunky guy to fall in love with an intelligent, asskicking, no nonsense woman, makes them feel intimidated!)
C ya later

The unified theory left me craving more more more. I can't wait to read the rest =)
Posted by: David | Nov 29, 2007 at 10:35 AM
great comic rachesl i loooooved it. it would be cool if you actually wrote a romance novel. well any way can't wait for the next comic :)
Posted by: raven | Nov 29, 2007 at 08:57 AM
I'm so glad you caught the Queen reference!
As for the romance novel, I gave up on writing one of those long ago, so don't expect this to see print any time soon. However, a lot of people at my livejournal (my ID being crowhen) seem to want to make a competition of writing the worst romance story possible around it. I just need to think of prizes!
Posted by: Rachel_Nabors | Nov 28, 2007 at 11:42 PM
Hehe... this made me laugh.
Was Sector 9 a Ghost in the Shell reference?
Posted by: Sydney | Nov 28, 2007 at 11:22 PM
Hmm, I've read a few of my Aunt's romance novels, but they were kinda wierd in my opinion... Then again I was always turned off by the really muscle-bound men on the covers.
Rachel's sounds awesome though!
