For those of you who say that your friends would tell you if something is wrong, many people don't know that they're herpes posotive, and you don't need sores to spread the virus. As for menengitis doesn't usually appear until the infected start having chills from the fever. But the disease can spread before symtoms appear.Chew that around next time you swap spit.

i think that rachel is right you dont know who they have been kising or if they haave gum desies or anything!!! You would have to do a full backgrond chek becausre just the thoungt it is like if your fired has a boyfriend and you drink after her you are kissing her and her boyfriend!

I agree with her. Double dipping and sharing drinks is just gross. It takes about 24 to 48 hours to get rid of other peoples germs. So if you kiss it takes that long to get the chemicals of your kissing parnter's mouth out of yours. Plus you don't know what kind of mouth diseases they have, if they have any.

ok i'm with her on the double-dipping thing but i think she went overboard on her reason

I don't think sharing is so bad. "Sharing is caring"

Ever since i've seen those meningitis commercials i don't share drinks or anyhting liket hat. Not even with friends because I may trust then, but htey may also trust som1 i dont so therefore when my friend drinks my drink i may be drinking sum nasty guys drink. And with meningitis you can die in like 24 hours and you dont know so i try not to chance it.
I TOTALLY AGREE!

sm of you guys have such weak immunities. While i don't drink after strangers, and the ones who have a lil too much spitand backwash |*GROSS!!!) i don't mind sharing drinks with pple i know. As some of you have said they'd tell u if there's smthing wrong. As well there's nothing wrong with making out with ur bf as long as u know hes clean... i see a high potential of 40 year old virgins here if kissing is an issue... what about sex... the list of posibilities... i respect that you don't want to get sick but i mean i'd rather enjoy my life than shield myself from it

I dont think its stupid at all. Its actually true. ALOT of people out there double dip, backwash, and do other crazy thing lol
My best friend, she makes out with the most random guys. Shes a very horny teenager lol XD She sometimes borrows my drinks. I dont want to be mean and say EW either. But imean, If she catches anything, I dont want to either. So I try to be careful with stuff like that. =X

the media scares us enough about our health...
sure some facts are true but others are just blown out of proportion.
Posted by: amelia | Sep 27, 2008 at 01:18 AM
i think that was ok but pretty much it was kinda stupid!
Posted by: kaykay | Jun 30, 2008 at 06:22 PM

(Hint: air pollution?)

This sounds spookily like me......

Come on, be reasonable, its not like you'll die from sharing a drink with a FRIEND, they'd probably tell you if they had herpes, or menengitis. Also you have to get sick to build up your imune system

i feel the exact same way. i was fine with kissing up until i became a total germ-a-phob and now my face cant come within 12 inches of my boyfriemds face...i wonder how hes handling this..

lmao "herpes is the new acne"! I agree, though. There are only a few people I would drink after: My mom, dad, brothers, and maybe a really good friend or fellow fighter/training partner. I'm already living with the first three, I have lived with the fourth, and when you wrestle and fight your sweat (and sometimes blood) tends to get all over each other anyways. But "random" people, or friends that are more like acquantinces? No way. It's a bad signal for your relationship anyways, that they feel entitled to something you're enjoying.

I don't share drinks not cus of gems or whateva but I just hate the idea of someone else's spit in my mouth and I'm not dating them.

You guys are pansies ;)
You have to get sick to build immunities!
Well not to herpes. But you know.

Gah I feel the same way. People call me a germaphobe when I tell them I don't share drinks, but then I'm the one with the last laugh when they get mono! :)
