i know right??? and i have another, so my fourteen year old cousin's birthday party just ended and katie(my cousin)went to our grandmas w/ her friend amber and my grandma asked "so howed you make out??" I understand your frustration, but I only vaguely remember hooking up being used to mean meeting with someone. I don't think there's any conspiracy, though. Think about it: your talking about meeting up with a friend when your a kid, and it's not a huge leap when you talk about "meeting up" with a "friend" when your a teen.

... I almost forgot the term "shagging" was such a big hit in America after Austin Powers.

Bugger, that means that we need to come up with some new British slang for having a bit of how's your father, doing the ding-dang-doo, smothering Turpin, chasing Lady Godiva, Battering down Lancaster's door, etc. without sounding too much like a 19th century chimbley sweep.

... Yes I did make up a couple of those by the way, and you're just going to have to guess which ones, because I'm not telling. :P
