My library has several MAC's. I have to admit they are not bad, but I can't even copy and paste text with them! It's made impossible because the program for letting you do so is only for the non-guests...
Microsoft, on the other hand, gives you ALOT of shortcuts (I can beautify a document in no time, barely using the mouse) and is family-friendlier at the moment. The should lose that monopoly, though.
People should choose a computer/laptop based on what they need and can afford. My laptop has little memory, but I barely download stuff and I have little money. It's perfect for me.

My friends and I very when it comes to comps and laptops, myself and one of friends have PCs, my other friend has a Mac,but we all love our computers none the less.

My roommate and I were JUST complaining about how much we hate Mac slaves. Dude, my computer works just fine and the extra grand I didn't spend on my laptop went toward my education.
Rachel, I miss your comics. They need to come back into my life.

did this rly happen to u?? ppl need 2 mind their own business! i mean as long as ur ok with ur computer what difference does it make to them??

Posted by: Kelly | Nov 16, 2008 at 08:53 PM
Blake, you come up with the stupidest comebacks ever.
Posted by: angie | Oct 21, 2008 at 01:54 AM
k, Blake, I don't know WHO you are, or WHY you're on Gurl.com, but I have NO idea what you just said >,<

I don't know much stuff about my laptop, just that I love it! It's so mine, it's pink (LOL), pics of me, my fave singer who I totally love (who is he? Wouldn't you like to know... JK), and it's just so mine. Hail the laptop lovers!
P.S, would you really whack someone with yours? Probably not, LOL again.
Posted by: AmorMJ | Jun 13, 2008 at 05:27 PM
It made me crack up when she whacked that guy with the laptop. I love my laptop too, so BACK OFF! Go girl, tell em who's laptop's best LOL.
Posted by: AmorMJ | Jun 07, 2008 at 09:26 PM
Haha, I know soooo many Mac groupies! My sisters and my brother all got laptops (My brother and one of my sisters got the one that costs like 3000 dollars) and they like worship them! It's kinda annoying.
Posted by: Krista | Apr 02, 2008 at 04:43 PM
Pssh, I highly doubt any of those scenarios actually happened.
Posted by: Allison | Mar 28, 2008 at 05:09 PM
If your not a computer elitist, you just have to make them feel like a loser for investing time and money in their computer and having an unwaranted sense of superiority. I haven't run into people like this myself, but I'm a guy and my immediate reaction would be something along the lines of, "yeah, well, this gets the job done, and I'd rather save my money up so I can get a 454 for my Mustang (that's a BIG-ASS engine. And yes, car-buffs out there, I did just pick a random engine. I don't know if that would actually fit/work) or some new guns for my little armory I've started...I'm sorry, did you say somethin' 'bout a computer?" and if they were still dicks, I would finish with something like "lets have a contest. Your computer v. my car: Mustang wins. Your computer v. my 12-gauge shotgun: Remington 870 wins. Shut-up." Ladies, you could do something involving pumps or stilletos. It would work in both cases: they can be expensive, so your saving money for them, and in the computer v. something awesome, the shoes kick/stomp through the computer.
Posted by: Blake | Mar 13, 2008 at 01:18 AM
haha, oh the computer gamer, i think in reality they're the least annoying about it, because they actually use their specs (being one myself i like to think of it that way), and it seemed like it was actually somewhat portrayed that way in the comic too.
Posted by: astrocom | Mar 04, 2008 at 10:37 PM
Haha! My boyfreind is a Mac worshipper extraordinaire!
He's nerve wracking.
T.T

Hello, my name is Doire, and I am a Mac worshipper. But I admit it. And I don't bug other people about their lousy PCs. Unless I am in a bitchy, snarky mood.

i don't know what my computer is lol..
i just use it
&& that makes me happy :D

Um. Microsoft really is like eating kittens. Microsoft's policies pertaining to IE in the 90's was abominable. They tried to monopolize the web browser market and displayed a complete disregard for user needs.
Open-source in any form, whether Firefox, or Opera, or OpenOffice or any of the thousands of open-source softwares available are the smart, conscientious choice.
Viva the revolution : a world where software is safer and readily available to users everywhere no matter what hardware, platform, or level of experience.

Great comic! I would be one of those Mac worshippers, except I don't try to force them on people...well, I don't try to. It's just that I love mine so much (a MacBook Pro; it's the first new computer I've ever had) that I sometimes get carried away. I am a Tech Girl & I love gadgets, but I DO NOT under any circumstances bash other people's machines. I think that's kinda kiddish, personally, and also it's kind of like calling someone's baby ugly--you just don't do it!
Posted by: kaiSim | Jan 10, 2008 at 12:34 AM
Oh no. I'm the last three combined into one. XD
Great comic :]

I dunno, would you call someone with good taste and strict opinions a computer elitist? I prefer quick, smooth working computers with a nice interface and as close as possible to no problems. I just prefer Macs because they accomplish that for me. They have a nicer design, they're better for artistic things (which I alot of what i do on my computer), they're easier to use, and I've never ONCE gotten a virus on my Mac (in almost 10 years of using them), because they have better security and there are less viruses for it. (I have never owned a PC, but just using them for school is enough.)
And vista is hardly anything like a Mac, for whoever said it was. It's a ripoff of the design, basically, but still not the same.

I love your comics! They speak the truth while adding a touch of humor to it. *huff*stupidmacs*huff* Keep creating and making the best comic EVER!

I'm a mac worshipper, I love my mac, it's fast, it's easy to use and I've never had a virus with it!
Although lately I've wanted to shoot the Mac team, because of leopard. You see it won't let photoshop work, so I wasted $200 just to go back to tiger. DAMN YOU APPLE! But other than that I like my Mac.
I loved the Harry Potter reference ^^
Posted by: Trill | Nov 23, 2007 at 02:02 PM
I will honestly admit that I am of the hardcore gamer type, and I have used almost the exact words of the one in the comic.
Posted by: Eriss | Nov 23, 2007 at 04:00 AM
I hate it when people want you to upgrade to better versions that really are only better at screwing up the machine. ;P
Great comic, Rachel. You made my week. :)
Posted by: Melody | Nov 23, 2007 at 01:16 AM
I just got a new laptop, its one of those coloured Dell laptops, and I always have people comparing their laptops to mine, but I dont really care. If I could get an older or smaller laptop, I would. But the thing is, mine isnt old or anything, but Im 14 and I saved up for this machine with my own money over the summer from 50 hour work weeks. Yeah, so its pretty much my child.

iT'S FUNNY HOW WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE INTERNET YOU "NEED" IT SO BAD, BUT WHEN YOU DO HAVE IT YOU SORTA FORGET ALL ABOUT IT. :)
Posted by: Jill | Nov 22, 2007 at 06:42 PM
i love my comp. It does what i need, which isn't much other then reading online comics, writing papers and downloading stuff from four-chan. But i must say that linux is better. it doesn't cost more and it isn't supporting evil co.s
Posted by: lauren | Nov 22, 2007 at 05:25 PM
I love my laptop...it's a mac but i do NOT worship it LOL... Once again rachel i LOVED your comic can't wait till the next one!
Posted by: raven | Nov 22, 2007 at 04:04 PM
Ooh, I can relate to this! Everyone keeps pressuring me to get a Mac, just because they LURVE the new iPhones and expect Apple's computers to be just as good. Why is PC bashing so cool nowadays?! I'm sticking with my Windows XP laptop until it breaks!
Posted by: Allison | Nov 22, 2007 at 03:11 PM
I have one of those old clunkety laptops, and I love it. I have my internet card sticking out the side, the screen wobbles a little, it gets hot alot, and it looks like there's a dent from a bullet on the 'dell' symbol. But it's my baby.
In our basement sits one of those really old laptops where you have to type in the programs still, before there was a mouse pad on yoru laptop...wanna talk about old. >.<
The only reason I know mac is because it's required to go into grapic design in college...that and the new Vista is almost exactly like a mac and I don't like it.
Posted by: Sarah Beth | Nov 22, 2007 at 02:04 PM
I just LOVE the Harry Potter reference! The scar between HP ..it made me laugh..XD Great comic as usual rachel!
Posted by: Rayooma | Nov 22, 2007 at 08:30 AM
haha! I have the same problem.
They say my laptop is clunky, really heavy, and the design is really old. I don't really care though, it works for me!
Posted by: emmy | Nov 22, 2007 at 12:01 AM
LOL...love it...my computer is pretty old and i get that all the time...love it.
Posted by: Yazmin | Nov 21, 2007 at 09:55 PM
I guess it all depends on the kind of person you are, you want certain things from a laptop. There's so many to choose from. I couldn't use a computer competently if it's not a Mac.
I'm not a Mac worshiper...it's just the only computer I've familiarized myself with...:D
good comic too.
Posted by: Yanna | Nov 21, 2007 at 07:17 PM
I Luv Racheal's Comics. I always see them every Wednesday! It cheers me up! :) It's sooo true too! I hate it when people are always making fun of my computer. I guess they don't know that i want to waste my money on other stuff then update my computer everytime a new one comes out.
Posted by: funnybunny8 | Nov 21, 2007 at 06:06 PM
omg woww this comic is so true.
people are way too into their computers, and proving their computer is the best.
i loved how you gave a type to each kind of person. i think anyone can relate to having this experience :P
hahaha anyway loved the comic, it was very funny, true and relevant.
Posted by: Rachel | Nov 21, 2007 at 04:18 PM
hey rachel: how is being a computer elitist any different from all the things you always write about, like being a sci-fi snob?
Posted by: m | Nov 21, 2007 at 02:52 PM
Rachel, everytime I read a comic of yours its like you were on my mind lol. Just yesterday I had this HUUUUUGE arguement with my best friend about linux and I just sent the comic to him to make peace...
and the harry potter reference on the laptop...hylarious! I always make that joke...
and, really girl, I must thank you, you solved one of my oldest arguements with my bf...I always say "laptop" and he says "notebook" and tells me I´m wrong...now he read the comic and he wont be able to say a thing to me again...XD
RACHEL YOU ROCK!
Posted by: Mariana | Nov 21, 2007 at 02:50 PM
lol.
this is so me...
I just got a brand spanking new computer (PC, I hatehatehate MAC) because my old one died (sobsobsob)
and I sit here and brag about it
but yeah people who sit there and throw all those fancy terms at you
and say "you must have this this this this and you can't possibly live without THIS...etc etc ect" really bug me
I'd rather have a funtional computer
that works for me
than something fancy-schmancy
that I don't even use.
RACHEL, YOU ROCK!
Posted by: lindseySHORTCAKE | Nov 21, 2007 at 02:33 PM
The fancier the laptop the more there is to go wrong.
Posted by: Sk | Nov 21, 2007 at 02:26 PM
Oh, no, I am a MAC worshipper...
Sort of.
PC can get the design and graphic thing done, too, I concur. Just for double the price. But that's ok...before I judge someone else's computer, I should get my own. )))
Posted by: Natalia | Nov 21, 2007 at 01:55 PM
Love the commic! lol!
Posted by: Kristin Bukowski | Nov 21, 2007 at 10:18 AM
The truth is finally revealed! Too true, Rachel, too true... This is also the case with cellphones. I need my phone to be able to call and SMS, other people are far from happy with that. And, as mentioned in earlier posts, you ROCK. You really do.
Thank you so much for making my day^^
