She asked him out... I don't know how much more forward you can be without being creepy.

I don't know, Lyle was a bit too slim and dressed a little odd.
...I'll bet you he's gay. ;D

I meant really flirt! not a subtle hint! some guys don't get the tiny hints!
Posted by: BellaDrake | Dec 22, 2008 at 08:15 AM
elizaborden, did you not read the last couple pages of the comic or something?! She DID ask him out!
Posted by: Meame | Dec 07, 2008 at 02:22 AM
ok i don't wanna sound mean but if rachel liked him so much why didn't she flirt a little? ask him to hang out sometimes? HECK do something that would show interest to this boy?!

i absolutely loved it.
its such a true story, us girls usually build up what we want a guy to say or do to make us happy but when it come right down to it we can't control them... sometimes their our dream guys and sometimes their not its all a part getting older and realizing that sometimes bad things happen for a good reason

Awww, poor Rachel. Lyle really WAS a god though, but Sparrow is what she is... Sparrow. A shallow, conceited, sexy (to many of the guys), and a non virgin. And I guess even though Lyle was totally and awesomely the perfect guy in intelligence and kindness, he got what was in front of him, since he spent day after day with Sparrow and her blondness. He may have kept tutoring her because he was selfless, or because he wanted some more Sparrow time, but the dude at the end needs to come in further episodes....

oh my god. this made me cry. i've seen this so many times. it happened to me to. ugh, boys are so... shallow.
Posted by: Niki | Apr 30, 2008 at 06:46 PM
Unrequited love sucks. *sigh* But whatever, we all have to get over it. Honestly, I always tend to have high expectations of guys, it's just the way I am, which is why I always get screwed. :D (Not in a sexual way.)
By the way, what is it with you and Stephen Hawking? You mention him in like every comic. Haha.
And p.s., Pokemon is my anti-drug, too.

whos the guy in the end? is he coming up in further episodes?
Posted by: Livs | Mar 31, 2008 at 01:28 AM
Hate to say it, but saw it coming. The perfect guy is never "perfect". Maybe if you had moved a little faster, you might have ended up with him instead of Sparrow, but then again I have no idea whether the guy is a tool or what. You see, all other things being equal, we guys prefer the hot chick, and tend to "go after" her first. We have to get to know girls before we realize which are shallow, and how much of a trade-off we're willing to allow in the long run. Now, if this guy realized that Sparrow wasn't his type, that she was way too shallow, that maybe he should be checking out this Rachel chick, this cute girl who he already has so much in common with, then personality would trump whatever slight-moderate advantage Sparrow has in the looks department.

Definitely the hardest thing is asking THEM. I'm in the same situation I still can't do it.

This is so ingeionious! Manga AND actual life problems, Rachel, you are the most amazing woman ever. I love how you put actual life problems into your art. It's a wonderful gift God's given you. Can't wait for the sequel!!!

Yeah I know how that feels the hottest guy EVER (in my eyes) made out with a bimbo and it was like heart breaking.

This comic is soo true and so right. It has a deep meaning for when people think that because this person is a way they feel they have to be it turns out to be entirely difrent and when we realize that it shatters and crushes us to the very brim. It's soo true I love this comic.

Lyle is definitely hot, but that doesn't mean as much as keeping promises
Posted by: broadwayboheme | Dec 20, 2007 at 06:17 PM
Kat, if it were me, I'd just come out and ask him ;)
Posted by: Rachel_Nabors | Dec 16, 2007 at 05:50 PM
Oh wow, the first part of the comic reminds me of how I feel right now minus Sparrow (I'm in chem with the guy I like :P)- I'm terrified of asking though / I don't know how to..
Posted by: Kat | Dec 03, 2007 at 07:39 PM
*Sigh* Been there, done that. It sucks.
