I don't think I could pull off getting my whole head of hair died a funky colour; curly hair looks funny in purple or green, but I have been planning on blue highlights for a while now! My school has never cared before, though a new principle has been bringing in many new rules, but what is probably the most well-known and most enforced rule at my school is no hats OR hoods on your head. Ever. To me it seems funny that the teacher would make her wear a hat. Now I totally want to go die my hair blue. >.>

Teachers aren't that at my school :P But that's just at my school, I don't understand why Ms. Withers was so upset about the colour of someone's hair...as long as the student isn't displaying offensive images in anyway I think there would be nothing to be so upset about that you must hide it.

I dyed my hair pink and my teacher said something like "Your hair needs to be a natural color or blah blah blah..." I said "If you have a problem i'll talk to the princible (who loves me) and he'll make you shut up." She never said anything else....if she hassels you, metion the authoritys....X3

i think the teacher was a little over reacting
well at least at my school the teachers wouldnt give us hats
you would probably get some weird looks if you went crazy on teh color
on the other hand, the comic was cute! <3

I couldn't even dye my hair in my school T_T
Posted by: Rynnie | Feb 20, 2009 at 11:56 PM
yeah my school is all nazi like that
we also have uniforms and they are absolutley insane when it comes to inforcing the rules
you'd expect them to be more concerned about kids failing and sckipping class or getting stones, but NO. If your hair is pink or blue or purple (I've gone to school with all of these and have only gotten sent home for one)
funny story:
VP: you know you're not allowed that hair color right miss?
moi: I do
VP: okay as long as you know ^-^

OMG. I dye my hair too and if my teacher told me to change my haircolor, I'd tell her to go to hell.
Well, not really, but I would get the school board to take notice.
Its a free country! and its completely wrong to discriminate based on hair color u____u

who cares it just hair and ur not ave hats at school
Posted by: ally | Feb 20, 2009 at 09:33 AM
I SWEAR that if my school told me I couldn't wear the colour I was wearing I would just say too bad! I'm not going to spend 20 bucks on another hair dye and I'm not going to wear a hat! (of course, I think my schools a little more strict about hats than what colour your hair is...in fact, I don't think they care.)

The school system in my hometown is like that. You have to have natural hair color, no bright reds, blues, greens, purples or streeks(sp) of unnatural colors either. I had streeks of gold, blue, violet and teal in my hair once and they told me i couldn't have those colors. That is looked inappropriate. I told the principle that it was washable (it was) he said ok... so after he left i went to the restroom and put more on. Then my friends wanted to paint their hair too. :0)

at least you probably mostly live in America!
I live in scratty England, and have to wear a uniform! So unfair! Natural hair colours, plain black flat shoes (not trainers or boots) black jumper, black trousers/knee-length skirt, white polo shirt, hair tied up, no jewellery and natural make-up. I am grateful I go to school and live in a fairly good country (apart from money, everything is soooo expensive) but it isn't fair im lumbered with uniform (well 99% of England is) but you should all be grateful you dont have a uniform, its all black and so itchy and horrible YUCKYYYY!!!

my old skool had that
and they didn't allow hats
Posted by: GG | Oct 03, 2008 at 08:31 PM

well at my STUPID school i have an even worse..........cough......dress code it has to have a collar, zipper, or buttons.......and no jeans.......... :'(

That teacher is way old-fashioned. I mean, what rights do teens have if they can't even dye their HAIR...
I'm not making sense now am I?
Oh well, at least you get the point :-)

mmm i like uniforms =D
i found a great way to be a noncomformist: since everyone breaks the rules, the only way to be original is to follow the rules :)

cherry red awsome!!!
Posted by: paris | May 06, 2008 at 04:01 PM
teehee!!! loved this!!! i've wanted my hair cherry red since i was fifteen (red! woot!) but my dad freaked when i dyed my hair black (only a few shades darker than my really dark brown hair...*sigh*), plus the town where i live...let's just say maybe i'm better off with my natural hair colour lol. however i do love playing with my hair...what olivia does with hair colour in this comic i've done with haircuts lol.

Burgundy? awesome. I used to do the same but let me warn you, it ruins your hair. Experimenting is fun but natural isn't bad either.
Posted by: Ally | Mar 29, 2008 at 06:08 PM
god, i would die if i couldn't keep my hair colored (half of it's purple). who the hell do the schools think they are, denying kids the right to express themselves? that just makes me so mad.
Posted by: jackie! | Feb 21, 2008 at 07:05 PM
"They've went too far this time! Restricitng hair colour is like restricting our freedom to expression, man....."
I loved your comic it was brilliant! I don't really mind uniforms 'cos I would feel abit annoyed that I would have to put effort into wearing the lastest clothes, but if they made all hair colour had to be natural I would sooo have to protest! I love my plum streaks!
