this comic is cute but it probably made me feel down. rather than anything else. my two closest male friends are both as gay as the day is long. my best friend is the one who gets most of the crushes. I occasionally get a drunk phsyco following me around in the bar or whatever.
and i'm still at college and all (senior high school in u.s.a. i think?) and i just don't think i'm the typical crushing type visa vi 'that girl in my class' sort of thing. and having no close male friends literally rules out all those kinds of guy crushes. but fotunately in britian we have a horrific drinking culture which makes it acceptable for girls to go out, get wasted and sleep with whoever is about to increase their self-esteem. so I know where to go for an ego boost! (to clarify, joking, i don't do that, unlike a majority of english girls. its not a stereotype, theres a reason we have more teenage pregancies then anywhere else in europe)

Why can't boys just ask US out?! Why does it have to be the girl's job? We do enough already.

Cat: Of course the nerds are crushing on you if you're the smartest girl in class, unlike some of the other more "popular" crowds in high school nerds arn't intimidated by a girls intelligence, in fact most of them find brains attractive. People in high school are generally (there are a few people who are exceptions) intimidated by people with things they don't have, i.e people without brains are intimidated by people with them, and people without looks are intimidated by people with them, etc. The only people not intimidated by these differences are usually (I hate this word but I have to use it) "self-actualised" (... I feel dirty now, I hate pseudo-psychological buzzwords XP) which basically means that they know who they are and have come to terms with it, causing them to be more confident in themselves.
... What was the point of this rant?
... I've completely forgotten... OH WAIT, I REMEMBER!!! Give the nerds a chance, you might be pleasently surprised, you might find some common ground like, oh I don't know, "reading web comics" perhaps? You could also find new geeky things that you like, you never know if you like D&D until you've tried it yourself or you could become a fan of video games.

When I was in chess club, all of the guys would stare at my breasts. I felt really sorry for them, since they were always picked on ruthlessly during the school day. They were subtle about the staring thing, and if they hadn't been, I wouldn't have gone back. But all the guys in Chess club had crushes on me. It was kind of weird.
Posted by: broadwaybohemia | Feb 14, 2008 at 08:07 AM
lol funny i wonder if its true for me and if it is i hope the guys are hot lol
Posted by: benita | Feb 11, 2008 at 05:52 PM
i dont know if this is really true or not. i do know a bunch of guys (meaning 4-5) who like me, and i completely ignore them because they are total weirdos. but it's funny how the guy i like probably thinks i'm weird too.
Posted by: london | Jan 26, 2008 at 05:09 AM
That was good, I really wonder if it's true? Unfortunetly I seem to attract alot of nerds :(
I thought being the smartest girl in the class would make them go away but really why do they keep smiling at me!!!
This made me laugh and reminded me of school.. :D
5 stars if I could rate it.

i love that ending. guys having a crush on you when you don't like them back is (albeit sort of bitchy) very flattering.

I love this comic. It makes me think of all the nerdy boys in my high school.

Aw! I do so love Anderw Lins comics. This is the one I always read when I'm feeling down and unattractive. These comics make me laugh, and they're just neat.
